Adelman talks about Curry s perfect three-pointer: The referee s whistle was very tight, which caused some hesitation in the players defense.

In the NBA regular season, the Nuggets lost to the Warriors 131-137 in overtime. After the game, head coach Adelman was interviewed and talked about Curry's three-pointer that sent the game into overtime.

Reporter: Regarding Stephen (Curry), there were some periods in the game when we successfully forced the ball away from him and surrounded him. But he's also very good at finding those pocket gaps even when someone is chasing him. Late in the game, do you think CB (Braun) or anyone else could have done a better job defensively? Or is there really no solution once he gets into that rhythm?

Adelman: I think there were times when we didn't force him to the strong side of the defense. If he turned to the other side, the other side of that pick-and-roll would be empty. He used this to find his rhythm. He finally hit the tying three-pointer, the kind of shot only he could make. But obviously we should have defended higher.

I felt that the players were hesitant later because the referee whistled some balls that had slight physical contact. If you get called for a foul, you won't be able to defend him closely outside the three-point line. Our strategy was to force him to drive to the basket, but obviously we weren't defensive enough and he made an incredible shot.
