Marca: Champions League prize money hits a new high, with a total amount of 2.47 billion euros

According to Marca, in order to resist the threat of the European Super League and maintain competition with the Club World Cup, UEFA continued to increase the Champions League prize money this season.

Last season, UEFA increased the Champions League prize by 21%, adding 400 million euros to respond to potential European Premier League threats. In this Champions League, the total prize money will be further increased from 2.437 billion euros to 2.47 billion euros, and the prize money for the UEFA Cup and Europa League will also increase.

The latest UEFA Champions League bonus allocation plan will continue until the 2026-27 season, after which UEFA will redesign based on feedback from all parties and actual situations.

In the 2025-26 Champions League, each team participating in the league stage will receive a fixed 18.6 million euros (participation award). There are 8 games in the league stage, and an additional 2.1 million euros per victory, and a draw of 700,000 euros. After the league stage ends, there will be additional bonuses based on the league rankings, ranging from 700,000 euros in the 16th place to 10 million euros in the 1st place. In addition, the top 8 teams in the league stage will receive a prize of 2 million euros, and the winner of the Champions League knockout play-off will receive 1 million euros.

The teams entering the top 16 will receive 11 million euros per team; 12.5 million euros for entering the top 8; 15 million euros for entering the top 4; 18.5 million euros for entering the finals; and 25 million euros for the champion.

In the Champions League last season, Paris Saint-Germain has received a prize of 118.7 million euros, not including the "pillar value" part they will receive in their annual report.

Under the previous Champions League system, Real Madrid won a total of 141 million euros as the champion of the 2023-24 season.

"Pillar Value" is one of three components used by UEFA to allocate the Champions League 2.47 billion euros bonus, accounting for 35% of the total (864.5 million euros). The other two parts are competitive performance (37.5%, €926.2 million) and participation award (27.5%, €679.2 million).

Pillar value is allocated based on UEFA points for each club and share of the TV broadcast agreement.
