Mastour: I am the number one fan of Milan, I hope Leo will become stronger under Allegri s coaching

Mastour joined Milan Youth Training at the age of 14 and was once regarded as a genius star, but now 27-year-old Mastour can only play football in Serie C. He was interviewed by Milan News.

You used to play for Milan, but the development was not as expected

Obviously, I was proud to be able to join a club like Milan in the past and now. I played with great champions and I was coached by top coaches who were passionate and taught me a lot. It was a wonderful time, and I recalled it with great joy and pride. Of course, stress and difficulties are also part of the game, but the most important thing is the aspect of life. In many ways, Milan could have managed me better at that time. But I am still very happy to spend that time with Milan.

You entered the Milan first team in the 2017-18 season. How important was Milan coach Gattuso to you?

Gattuso is important to everyone in that Milan, not only to me. He is an amazing person and a very good coach. I remember when he first took office he called me to his office and told me that he had heard a lot about me, but he would judge me with his own eyes. A few days later, he told me that nothing he had heard about me was true. It makes me proud because we always talk about Gattuso, who is the champion on the court. I worked with him a lot and he always tried to inspire me, he was a role model for the team. Now I'm glad he's the head coach of the Italian national team and we need someone as passionate as him.

and Allegri, who is back in Milan now coaching

Yes, Allegri is always very kind to me and willing to help me. I still remember when I trained under the guidance of Allegri on the first team and Ibrahimovic, it was a wonderful memory. I think he is a top coach and one of the best coaches in Europe. When I was training in Milan, he always gave me a lot of advice, but the most important thing was that he allowed me to play freely. He said to me, "Play as you want, stay calm and play happily." During that time, a coach like him was very important to me. Allegri is very good at this. He understands players, first of all, he understands us as human beings.

Many Serie A teams have changed a lot next season

Yes, I saw a highly competitive Serie A league where many players can do well. Part of me has been staying in Milan, and I hope that under Allegri's leadership, Milan can get back on track and play better and better. Next season, Milan only has one game a week, so there is a greater chance of competing in the league until the end and more physical fitness can be achieved during the sprint stage of the season. I still have many friends who still play in Milan and I am their number one fan.
