Moukoko: Maybe everyone expects me to kill everyone in Denmark, but I can overcome the difficult start.

Dortmund will face Copenhagen in the Champions League on Tuesday, and forward Mukoko is about to play against his old club. In a recent interview with "Kicker", the former talented forward talked about his final decision to leave the Bundesliga completely in the summer, his failed experience in Nice and his start in Copenhagen.

Mukoko made the decision this summer not to continue his career in the Bundesliga for the time being. Regarding the rumors that there were also Bundesliga teams as options at the time, the 20-year-old forward said: "There are indeed offers, but I want to go out."

The specific Bundesliga clubs came to inquire, the young forward did not elaborate. However, there were previous reports that Union Berlin and Cologne had been linked with Mukoko, but these rumors were not further confirmed in the summer, and his transfer to Copenhagen was confirmed at the end of June.

Mukoko emphasized that despite the sluggish state, the move to the quieter Danish league was the right decision. In 20 appearances so far, he has scored four official goals, and for example, he was criticized after losing to Qarabag in the Champions League.

Moukoko agreed with this: "I am my own biggest critic. I know that is not my level. That was not a good day for me at all. If it were me, I would even replace myself."

But he also emphasized: "Perhaps everyone expects me to go to Denmark and dominate the league. But I almost never played 90 minutes for two years. Then suddenly I played every three days. It was a difficult challenge at the beginning, but I will come out again, I know.”

In Dortmund, the former talented boy has been gradually marginalized in the past few years, and he played on loan in Nice in the 24/25 season. He now says: "When I say this, many people won't understand, but Nice is the best thing that happened to me. In Dortmund, it was always the coach's fault when I didn't play. In Nice, I learned to look for the reasons in myself first, and then look at others."

Mukoko also said: "I learned to be patient and learn to control my emotions instead of blaming others."
