Official: Betis was punished by UEFA and fans are prohibited from watching the game in the first away game of the UEFA Cup this season

UEFA Ethics and Discipline Committee rejected Betis' appeal and announced that Betis fans were banned from entering to watch the game during their first European away game this season.

In the second leg of the Europa League semi-final last season, Betis drew 2-2 away with Fiorentina. At that time, Betis fans set off firecrackers, throwing items, and intentional damage on the road. Afterwards, Betis club was fined 30,000 euros and prohibited from selling tickets to fans in the next European away game. Betis appealed for the penalty, but UEFA notified Betis this Thursday that the Ethics and Discipline Committee of UEFA rejected the appeal and upheld the penalty decision against Betis. This means that in this season's Europa League, Betis will be banned from watching the game away in his first away game.

Betis Club's legal department will assess whether there is a legal basis for continuing the appeal, but so far the club will not be able to sell tickets for the first Europa League away game of the season to fans.
