Jokic Jr.? Shin Kyung teammate: I feel he doesn t like this nickname because he has become stronger

Basketball

In his first international showdown with Jokic, Shin Kyung performed well and led Tรผrkiye to defeat Serbia 95-90. After the game, teammate Larkin talked about the early days of Shin Kyung being called "Little Jokic" by the media.

Larkin said: "I don't think he likes this nickname now. You can see the similarities in their style of play. Shin Kyung has lofty ambitions. He is a very confident young man with extremely high basketball skills and talent. He has unlimited potential, and I think he is far from reaching his peak. He will continue to improve and get better and better."

Shin Kyung contributed 28 points (10 of 17 shots), 13 rebounds and 8 assists in this game; while Jokic scored 22 points (10 of 16 shots), 9 rebounds and 4 assists.

"In his youth, in the first and second year, you could call him 'Jokic' because their styles were very similar, but he proved in this game that he was ready to take the next step. Last year he was an NBA All-Star and I believe he will continue to grow and get better and better. That nickname might be suitable for him a few years ago, but now he is stronger than that time," Larkin said.

Larkin himself also performed well in this game, contributing 23 points and 9 assists. He has played in the NBA for four seasons, playing for the Mavericks, the Knicks, the Nets and the Celtics.
