James: I won everything in my first season. My first training coach in my second year asked me to get out of here

Today, Lakers forward James' podcast program "The Brain of the Field" aired the 11th episode of the second season, with James, Doncic and host Nash talking about many topics.

James recalled his coach Dambrot in his senior year and senior season coach: "There is a story, Coach D is crazy, he is a lunatic. Last year he finally retired from Duquesne's coach. But in my senior year, I was selected into the All-American, State, and City. We didn't lose all the season in the senior year, we won the state championship, and I was the MVP of the State Championship. So I participated in the first session of the senior year, and I was a little floating, we won everything, and I got some praise and so on.

"And then on the first day of my senior year, he drove me out of the training ground. Just to give me some color, he looked at me and said, ‘Go to your best senior high school player in the United States. Get out. ’He knocked me out of training during my sophomore year. Of course I was very angry, ‘What the hell? You are bullying me. ’ But he set the tone for that season. I don't allow you to think too confident, or be arrogant when you come here. Because this is not about you, it is about what we are working on building. He knows I'm the top player in the team, but I won't give you hints that make you think you are. Many things I learned from him are still useful today. ”
