RMC: UEFA decides to raise prices and launches second round of bidding for Champions League broadcast rights

In order to achieve the annual media revenue target of 5 billion euros (currently 4.4 billion euros), UEFA decided to increase the price of the UEFA Champions League broadcast rights for the 2027-2031 season. According to RMC, UEFA decided to launch the second round of bidding on Wednesday after receiving the first round of bids from various broadcasters on Tuesday. Each broadcaster needs to submit bids again before noon on Thursday in an effort to win the broadcast rights.

It is understood that in France, all game packages are affected by the second round of adjustments, and the same is true in Spain. But in the other three countries in Europe's top five leagues, this is not the case. In England, Germany and Italy, only some packages are affected.

It is reported that in these markets, at least one important package has been confirmed, thanks to the strong promotion of major global broadcast platforms, as UC3 expected and hoped. UC3 is a joint venture between UEFA (51% stake) and the powerful European Club Association (EFC (49% stake)), which is chaired by Paris owner Nasser.
