Chasing Dreams: I haven’t had any problems with the management in the past 14 years. If I perform well, the contract will take its course.

Recently, Warriors star Green was interviewed by TA reporter Sam Amick.
Amick: You said you were satisfied with your contract. Your contract with Curry is synchronized (Curry's contract ends next season). But given that Steve Kerr is also entering the final year of his contract, how do you plan to handle this situation?
Dream Chase: I think the most important thing is that I need to perform well this season. I plan to have a very good performance in the new season. When you perform well, other conversations will fall naturally. These conversations usually develop naturally. As long as I'm doing my job and performing at the level I'm supposed to be at, these conversations will be easy. I have never had any problems with management over the past 14 years and I still will not have any problems. We've always worked together and like my last contract it was a team effort and not just about me getting paid. It's still about getting paid what you deserve, but it's also about being able to compete and win. It’s not like, “I have to get this, nothing else matters.” No, everything matters—the whole situation matters. As long as the whole situation is taken into account, we can solve this problem.
I strongly agree with Steve's point of view. If I was supposed to stay here—and I always thought I was supposed to be here—we would get this thing done. There is no pressure. Steve isn't one of those guys who's like, "Oh, crap, I didn't renew my contract." He would say, "We'll take it year by year, and if it's right for everyone, we'll do it." I had the same attitude. By the end of the season, we might have some conversations. Myself, my agent (Klutch Sports founder Rich Paul), our front office, President of Basketball Operations Mike Dunleavy, our team, Joe Lacob, we're all going to sit down and evaluate what makes the most sense. No matter what, we talk about, "What do we need to do? Where are we now? What's next?" So no matter what, we're going to have that conversation.
