Italian midfielder Bove fainted from a heart attack last season. Now he has recovered and hopes to return to the field, but sports medicine experts say Bove can only play abroad.

Acting Chairman of the National Association of Cardiologists of Italy, Massimo Grimaldi, said: "Bovi can return to the arena, but can only play abroad in Italy. In Italy, if the current rules do not change, it will be difficult for him to find a sports doctor to issue a health certificate. Currently, only players with subcutaneous defibrillators implanted in foreign leagues (such as the Premier League) are allowed to play, and the player himself bears any potential risks."

The doctor continued: "Bovi must undergo routine examinations every 3 to 6 months, including electrocardiograms, cardiac ultrasound, cardiopulmonary function tests, etc. Traditional defibrillators can record cardiac data for up to 5 seconds, while subcutaneous defibrillators have some restrictions, so imaging examinations need to be performed regularly."
