Real Madrid's official website wrote: "On November 17, 2006, one of the best strikers in the history of football passed away."
"Ferenc Puskas passed away on November 17, 2006 at the age of 79. Madridistas and the football world lost one of the most outstanding forwards in its history. The Hungarian player became a world legend with his scoring ability. In Real Madrid, he and Di Stefano, Copa, Riya Er and Gento formed a dream striker."
"Puskas joined our club at the age of 31 and his performance contributed to one of Real Madrid's most successful eras.
